The Frederick County Middle School community is committed to the following vision:
A Safe and Orderly Environment
- A safe, orderly, caring, and supportive environment supports student learning
- Positive and encouraging relationships are developed with students, staff and the school community
- Common expectations for school routines and practices are developed and communicated to all stakeholders
- Strategies to ensure security and safety for all students and staff are implemented and monitored regularly
- Students are courteous and respectful and strive to do their best in school

Academic Success for All Students
- Stakeholders share high expectations for student achievement
- Collaborative teams focus on student success
- Teachers consider individual differences and learning styles and plan for developmentally appropriate instruction
- A school-wide focus on excellent instruction includes curriculum alignment and differentiation
- Teachers work collaboratively to create lesson plans aligned with the curriculum that include clear learner objectives, differentiated methods and activities, technology application and assessment
